Frequently Asked Questions

Before Booking

  • Stargazing under the rain is no fun. To make sure this doesn’t happen, we will email you at 3 pm on the day of the tour if we need to cancel.

In the case of cancellation due to overcast skies, we will give you 2 options:

    1. Choose to receive a gift voucher / credit transferable to other people valid for 3 years valid in Jervis Bay or the Blue Mountains.

    2. Choose to receive a refund (5% service and merchant fees non-refundable). Refunds are not available if you have transferred your booking from the Blue Mountains.

  • 90 minutes.

  • The Earth orbits around the Sun in 12 months. As a consequence, the landscape of our starry nights changes a lot throughout the year!

At times you will see the Moon, other times the Milky Way, Mars could be up there, or Saturn, or Jupiter, or Orion. It’s all season dependent.

Here are some pointers: if you like the Moon, come up a night of gibbous night (a few days before or after the Full Moon). If you like the Milky Way, come on a New Moon or when the Moon is set. If you’re unsure, nights with a thin Moon crescent are the best.

If there’s a specific planet or constellation you’d like to see in particular, shoot us an email and we’ll reply to you with a suitable time window to see that object.

  • There is a short 1-minute walk from the carpark, on the sand. There is no walking involved during the tour.

Parents are welcome to bring children under 3 years old for free. We understand that little ones can be impatient—after all, we've all been kids!— that said, we kindly ask parents to help us keep the atmosphere calm and peaceful so all guests can fully enjoy the tour. Our spacious beach setting ensures there's plenty of room for everyone to relax and have a soothing experience under the stars.

    No astronomy knowledge is required.

  • We may run two tours per night on buys weekends, the value of all the tours is equal, the telescope objects are similar. Our first tour starts 30 minutes after sunset, stars start to be visible at the end of the introduction and you will be fully immersed in the dark. For the couples looking for a romantic experience cuddling under the stars, please note there may be more kids attending the first tour (but it’s rare that we have rowdy little ones at our tours!). So, really it depends if you’re more an early-dinner-person or a night owl.

After Booking

  • Sure thing! Please email us to request a change date or any change in your booking and we will send you your new ticket or a voucher! You can request a change in your booking up to 24 hours before the start of your tour. We are open every night and will try our best to accomodate you if the tour is sold out.

We recommend wearing a warm jacket as the weather on the bay can be everchanging, it can be windy. Beanies, gloves, scarves are strongly recommended in Winter.

We kindly ask that you avoid using bright flashes or lights near other guests, so everyone can maintain their night vision and fully enjoy the dark sky experience.
